Green Waste

We will clear your green waste for you in a timely efficient manner.

Have you been busy clearing a section or tidying up your garden?
Do you have a mountain of lawn clippings that needs to disappear?

Save yourself the hassle of removing it by giving us a call. We remove green waste and take it to the landfill to be disposed of correctly. You can then tick it off your to-do list and know your green waste has been disposed of in an eco-friendly way.

We take away all kinds of organic waste including:

  • Branches
  • Prunings
  • Leaves
  • Shrubs
  • Lawn clippings
  • Tree logs

These items get taken to a special section of the landfill where green waste is separated from general rubbish.

Piles of broken branches and prunings also have the potential to cause injury from being a trip hazard and cause havoc on a windy day.

Turning green waste into compost

There is a very good reason why green waste is taken to a separate section of the landfill – it gets turned into compost!

When green waste is dropped at the landfill it gets mulched and placed into rows or mounds to promote active composting. It then gets regularly turned and monitored to ensure the conditions are ideal to create compost and mulch mixes that are then sold back to the public and businesses.

The following items are not considered green waste due to the composting process:

  • Flax
  • Bamboo
  • Cabbage tree
  • Kitchen waste
  • Any plants infected with myrtle rust
  • Plastic, glass or metal objects

When we collect green waste, we take care to remove any items that cannot go into this section of the landfill.

Keeping your property healthy and free from hazards

Clearing away green waste and not leaving it in a pile on your property is important for health and safety reasons.

Over time the mountain of lawn clippings and garden weeds tucked away in the corner of your property will begin to cause a stink, in more ways than one. The decomposing organic matter can not only generate an odour and potentially harmful gases, but it can also attract unwanted attention from rats, mice and insects. As well as potentially annoying your neighbours and killing the grass underneath.

Piles of broken branches and prunings also have the potential to cause injury from being a trip hazard and cause havoc on a windy day.
