General Rubbish
Our rubbish removal service includes taking away extra rubbish bags that won’t fit in your bin as well as piles of general rubbish from inside or outside your home.
If you’ve got a garage full of junk that needs to go or a pile of rubbish sitting in your yard that’s been there forever, give us a call.
Overflowing rubbish poses a risk to your health for several reasons.
It’s a breeding ground for bacteria, insects and vermin
It causes air pollution that can lead to respiratory issues and illness
Toxic substances can leak into and contaminate the soil and pollute waterways
It causes bad odor from decomposing food and liquid waste
Attracts rats, mice and stray cats and dogs.
Risk of injury and infection from broken and rusty objects
As well as the health risks, living with piles of rubbish impacts your life by being a nuisance and causing stress. Getting our help to remove the rubbish cluttering up your life is as simple as you calling us and pointing to what needs to go. We’ll gather it all up and take care of it.
Need your rubbish gone in a hurry?
If you’ve done a big clean up and need the rubbish removed before a landlord inspection or guests arrive, we’ll get it sorted for you.
Old tyres
We also collect old tyres and either take them to a recycling centre or take them to someone who has a good use for them. For example community groups or schools may want tyres for playgrounds, gardens or artwork. Tyres that get taken to recycling centres get turned into things like roading surfaces and park seating, among other things.
Recycling
We’re passionate about recycling and taking as little as possible to our landfills.
We know how fast a recycling bin can fill up and it can be difficult to get to a recycling station. This is why we offer a collection service so that we can do it for you. You don’t even need to sort it first, just show us what needs to go, and we’ll sort it as we load.
We will collect your plastic, glass, tins, aluminum, cardboard and paper, and take these items to the recycling station for you.

Hazardous waste
Many households have items such as left-over paint, tins of varnish, batteries, herbicides and pesticides, and a variety of sprays and tubs from home DIY projects. These items often sit in sheds and garages for years.
It’s vital that these items are disposed of correctly because they pose a health risk for people and the environment. Anything toxic, flammable, corrosive or explosive should never go in your rubbish bin as they require special treatment.
We solve your dilemma of what to do about these items by collecting and ensuring they are disposed of correctly and safely. We take away full and partially used items, as well as empty packaging.
To see if an item is considered hazardous waste, check the labelling and look for the red and black symbol, or give us a call to ask.
We collect:
- Paint tins and pails
- Batteries of all kinds – including mobile phone and car batteries
- Weedkillers (herbicides and pesticides)
- Varnish
- Aerosol spray cans
- Solvents
- Miscellaneous tins and tubs from household maintenance projects
We don’t collect:
- Animal carcasses
- Medical waste
- Asbestos
Paint waste
Paint should never be poured down stormwater or household drains because it pollutes our waterways. The same goes with taking it to the landfill where it can harm the environment by seeping into the soil and releasing harmful vapours into the air.
We know how to dispose of paint correctly, including where good quality products can be donated, and packaging recycled. Community groups take water-based paints for use in local projects.
Dulux and Resene both accept unwanted paint as part of their efforts to reduce the amount of paint and packaging going to the landfill and into our waterways. We take the paint we collect to these drop off locations, saving you time and you don’t need to worry about lifting heavy paint pails and possible spills in your car!
Battery disposal
Did you know that batteries cannot be thrown away with your general rubbish? They contain hazardous substances that can cause a fire or leak into soil and groundwater at landfills. This includes everyday batteries that you use in your remotes, mobile phone and car batteries and those small button style batteries often found in children’s toys.
We recommend keeping old batteries in a box so that you have them all in one place, and when it’s full, give us a call to take it away to be recycled.
